Thousands of people have started to come to the Western Wall every night at midnight and at the early morning hours to say Slichot, as is customary with the Sephardic community.The Western Wall Plaza has been filled with people from all communities from all around Israel, accepting the kingship of heaven during these days of repentance, roaring as one to heaven – “Adon HaSlichot, we have sinned before You – have mercy on us!”The Western Wall Heritage Foundation printed about 100,000 Slichot booklets for the worshippers. Every year, the number of worshippers coming to the Western Wall during the High Holidays grows. The sight of thousands of people streaming to the Western Wall Plaza during the night hours of this special week is an unforgettable experience. The power of the connection between Am Yisrael and the Western Wall is palpable at this time.
